Surgeons:

Prof. Isabel Vilaseca has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1985-1991). She is Specialist in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery (1992-1995) and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (UB, 1997). She also completed a research scholar program in the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Emory Clinic and Emory Voice Center of Emory University in Atlanta, USA (2003-2004).

Prof. Isabel Vilaseca is the Head of the Otolaryngological Department of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. She is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona.

Her research has focused on the understanding and treatment of tumors of the upper airway in voice disorders and sleep-disordered breathing. She had direct involvement in the implementation and functional evaluation of transoral resection of pharyngolaryngeal tumors.

Prof. Isabel Vilaseca has authored over 50 scientific publications, most of them in journals with high impact factor, and more than 30 book chapters. She is editor of two books on "CO2 Laser Microsurgery for Malignant Lesions of the Upper Airways" (2004 and 2015)
