Diagnosis: Left Idiopathic adductor vocal cord paralysis
Loss of voice 2 years ago.
Coughing and choking when eating, excessive phlegm production.
No recurrent chest infections.
Referred from elsewhere after ENT team had evaluated, managed with speech therapy. Considered high risk for GA and referred for LA procedure.
Pmh: Heart failure with LVB device, Atrial fibrillation, Hysterectomy, Arthritis, Scoliosis, Hearing loss, Kidney disease, Anaemia, Cataract.
Multiple regular medications including Apixaban.
Examination: Left adductor vocal cord paralysis.
Treatment options: Vocal cord injections vs Permanent thyroplasty
Patient's choice - for Permanent implant.
